The Virtuosic Flutist: Brilliant Steps for the Next Step and Beyond is the first in a series of flute method books I have developed to reflect more than thirty-four years of teaching experience. My work with students has included one-on-one instruction from beginning through advanced levels, more than twenty-six years as a university flute professor, and over 425 masterclasses presented internationally.
In this book, I offer concise and engaging approaches to developing technique and musical artistry for flutists at every stage of study. The material is built through flexibly designed exercises, visual resources, and clear explanations of foundational topics including breathing, intonation, tone color, grounding, and vibrato.
